In
many ways, public relations is the heart and soul of all advertising
and design. Your projected image will always be scrutinised by
a wider public that has its own agenda and little time – always
ready to accept you at face value, but not willing to invest in
anything deeper.
Behind the smile or the frown, if that's
what you're about, depth has to be part of the facade – I call
it "Depth at the surface". Public relations will help your company,
small business or private venture project a deeper image and smooth
out some of the less useful ripples in public or private existence – and
where the two cross over – as
they so often do these days.
There is a certain truth in the phrase "all publicity is good
publicity" it all depends how it is presented and explained
to the public.
